About:

1910s fashion

b.

The 1910s was a decade of great change in women's fashion, as the S-shaped silhouette of the previous decade gave way to a more relaxed and natural look. Waistlines rose to just below the bust, and skirts became narrower and more tubular. Tunics and hobble skirts were popular, as were long, flowing dresses with simple lines.

In terms of fabrics, silk, satin, and velvet were popular choices for eveningwear, while cotton and linen were more common for daywear. Patterns were often floral or geometric, and colors were bright and bold.

Hats were an essential part of any woman's outfit in the 1910s, and they came in all shapes and sizes. Wide-brimmed hats with face-shading brims were popular in the early years of the decade, while smaller hats with flat brims became more popular later on.

Hairstyles also evolved in the 1910s, with shorter, more boyish styles becoming increasingly popular. Bobbed hair was introduced in 1909, and it quickly became a symbol of the new era of women's liberation.
