American comic book artist and illustrator
Adam Kubert is an American comic book artist known for his work on various superhero titles for both Marvel and DC Comics. Born on October 6, 1959, in Dover, New Jersey, he is the son of Joe Kubert, a legendary comic book artist and founder of the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art. Adam Kubert followed in his father's footsteps and attended the Kubert School, where he honed his skills as an illustrator.
Kubert's career in the comic book industry began in the 1980s, and he quickly gained recognition for his dynamic and detailed artwork. He has worked on a wide range of titles, including Wolverine, The Incredible Hulk, Ultimate X-Men, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Action Comics. His work on Wolverine with writer Larry Hama was particularly well-received and is considered a high point in the character's history.
In addition to his work on mainstream superhero titles, Kubert has also illustrated a number of graphic novels and limited series. He collaborated with author Neil Gaiman on the critically acclaimed Marvel 1602, which reimagined Marvel superheroes in the Elizabethan era. Kubert has also worked on Origin, a miniseries exploring the early life of Wolverine, and Avengers vs. X-Men, a crossover event that pitted two of Marvel's most popular superhero teams against each other.
Throughout his career, Kubert has been recognized for his contributions to the comic book industry with multiple awards and nominations. He has won the Harvey Award for Best Inker and has been nominated for the Eisner Award for Best Penciller/Inker. Kubert continues to work as an illustrator and is also an instructor at the Kubert School, where he teaches the next generation of comic book artists.
