Alfonso Cuaron is a Mexican film director, screenwriter, producer, and editor, known for his diverse filmography and his use of innovative filmmaking techniques. Born on November 28, 1961, in Mexico City, Cuaron began his career working in television before transitioning to film. He gained international recognition with his 1995 film A Little Princess, which earned him his first Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Cuaron's breakthrough came with the 2001 film Y Tu Mamá También, which he co-wrote and directed. The film was critically acclaimed and received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
