Italian conceptual photographer known for abstract landscapes
Andrea Galvani is an Italian photographer known for his conceptual approach to landscape photography. Born in 1973 in Verona, Italy, Galvani's work often explores the relationship between nature and human intervention, using photography as a means to document and question the impact of human activity on the environment. His photographs are characterized by their large scale and attention to detail, often capturing vast, desolate landscapes that have been altered by human presence. Galvani's work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, the 4th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art, and the 9th Havana Biennial. He has also been the recipient of numerous awards, including the New York Photo Award and the Celeste Prize for Photography. Galvani's work is held in several public and private collections, including the Guggenheim Museum in New York and the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago.
