American interior designer and founder of Donghia Associates
Angelo Donghia (1935-1985) was an American interior designer known for his modern and luxurious designs. He was born in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania and studied at the Parsons School of Design in New York City. After graduating, he worked for the design firm Yale Burge Interiors before starting his own company, Donghia Associates, in 1968. Donghia's design philosophy was to create comfortable and livable spaces that were also stylish and sophisticated. He was known for his use of clean lines, neutral color palettes, and sumptuous fabrics. Donghia's work was highly sought after by celebrities and high-profile clients, and he was known for his ability to create a sense of glamour and elegance in his designs. In addition to his interior design work, Donghia also designed furniture, textiles, and accessories. He was the recipient of numerous awards, including the Interior Design Hall of Fame and the Roscoe Award for his textile designs. Donghia's legacy continues through the work of the Donghia Foundation, which provides scholarships to students studying interior design.
