American comic book artist and writer known for all-ages works
Art Baltazar is an American comic book artist and writer, known for his work on all-ages comics such as Tiny Titans, Superman Family Adventures, and Itty Bitty Hellboy. Baltazar began his career in the comic book industry in the late 1990s, co-creating the independent comic book The Cray-Baby Adventures. He gained wider recognition in 2008 when he co-wrote and illustrated Tiny Titans for DC Comics, which won the Eisner Award for Best Publication for Kids in 2011. Baltazar's distinctive art style is characterized by its cartoonish, playful quality, and his work often features humorous and lighthearted takes on classic comic book characters. In addition to his work on all-ages comics, Baltazar has also worked on more traditional superhero titles, including Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice. Alongside fellow artist Franco Aureliani, Baltazar is the co-founder of the comic book company Aw Yeah Comics, which publishes creator-owned titles as well as comics featuring Baltazar and Aureliani's original characters.
