American political cartoonist and illustrator
Ben Garrison is an American cartoonist and illustrator known for his political cartoons and caricatures. He was born in Montana in 1957 and began his career as a graphic artist in the 1980s. Garrison's work gained widespread attention in the late 2000s and early 2010s, particularly for his cartoons that often feature conservative and libertarian themes. His cartoons have been widely shared on social media and have been featured on various websites and publications, including Breitbart News and InfoWars.
Garrison's style is characterized by bold lines, exaggerated features, and a satirical approach to political commentary. He often includes text in his cartoons to emphasize his message, and his work has been praised by some for its humor and criticized by others for its controversial content. Garrison has been the subject of controversy for some of his cartoons that have been interpreted as promoting conspiracy theories and for his association with far-right groups.
Despite the controversy, Garrison has maintained a dedicated following and continues to produce cartoons and illustrations. He has published several books of his work, including Rogue Cartoonist: The Internet Perils of a Citizen-Muckraker and The Ben Garrison Big Book of Editorial Cartoons. He also maintains a website where he sells prints of his cartoons and offers commentary on current events.
