American independent animator
Bill Plympton is an American illustrator, animator, and cartoonist known for his distinctive hand-drawn animation style. He gained prominence with his short films such as Your Face (1987), which was nominated for an Academy Award. Plympton's work is characterized by its surreal humor and often grotesque imagery. He has produced several feature-length animated films, including The Tune (1992), I Married a Strange Person! (1997), and Idiots and Angels (2008). Plympton has also contributed to various music videos, commercials, and television shows.
