American animator and film director
Chris Sanders is an American illustrator, animator, and film director known for his work in the animation industry. He is particularly recognized for his contributions to Disney and DreamWorks Animation. Sanders co-wrote and co-directed Lilo & Stitch (2002) and How to Train Your Dragon (2010), both of which received critical acclaim and commercial success. He began his career at Walt Disney Feature Animation, where he worked on films such as Beauty and the Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992), and The Lion King (1994) as a storyboard artist and character designer. Sanders' distinctive art style and storytelling have significantly influenced contemporary animation. He later joined DreamWorks Animation, where he continued to direct and write, contributing to the studio's creative output.
