Canadian comic book writer and artist
Dave Sim is a Canadian cartoonist and illustrator best known for his work on the self-published comic book series Cerebus. The series, which ran from 1977 to 2004, spans 300 issues and is notable for its length and the depth of its narrative. Sim's work on Cerebus is characterized by its detailed black-and-white artwork and its exploration of complex themes such as politics, religion, and gender. In addition to Cerebus, Sim has also produced other works, including Judenhass, a graphic novel addressing the Holocaust. His contributions to the field of independent comics have been recognized with multiple awards, including the prestigious Eisner Award. Sim's approach to self-publishing and his outspoken views on various social issues have made him a controversial figure within the comics community.
