British comic book and graphic novel artist and illustrator
Barry Windsor-Smith is a British comic book artist and illustrator known for his work on Marvel Comics' Conan the Barbarian and for creating the character Weapon X. Born on May 25, 1949, in Forest Gate, London, Windsor-Smith began his career in the late 1960s, working for British and American publishers. He gained prominence in the early 1970s with his work on Conan the Barbarian, which was praised for its detailed and dynamic artwork. Windsor-Smith's style is characterized by its intricate line work and attention to detail, often incorporating elements of Art Nouveau and Pre-Raphaelite art.
