Eduardo Chillida
Spanish abstract sculptor
Eduardo Chillida was a Spanish sculptor and installation artist known for his monumental abstract works, often created in steel and stone. His oeuvre includes notable pieces such as Peine del Viento and Elogio del Horizonte, which are characterized by their integration with natural landscapes and exploration of space, form, and material. Chillida's work frequently engages with themes of human existence and the relationship between mass and void. He studied architecture before turning to sculpture, which influenced his structural approach to art. His works are held in numerous international collections, including the Museo Chillida-Leku in Hernani, Spain, dedicated exclusively to his art.
